Welcome Back to School!!! We are so excited to be back in the building and working with our students! You can always contact me through email, even at night or on weekends: dolah@schools.nyc.gov.

I concentrate on the senior class in the fall and the juniors in the spring, but am always available to answer questions any student or parent may have. As we move forward, we have extended our college and career readiness program into our 9th and 10th grade seminar classes. I will be working closely with those teachers to make sure each student is on track for life after Petrides, no matter which path they choose.

This will be my 4th year as the college and career advisor for Petrides and my 24th year with the New York City Department of Education!

I have been at Petrides since June 2001. I have degrees in History and Education as well as Master's Degrees in Special Education (K-12) and Building Supervision. I began my teaching career as a 7th grade social studies teacher. I moved up to High School in 2004, where I taught American and Global History. For the past 10 years, I have taught Advanced Placement US History. Over the course of the last 4 years, I have worked strictly as the College and Career Advisor.

There are 4,200 colleges in the United States, including 185 in the state of New York!  It is my pleasure to help you to navigate this often intimidating network of higher education.

In September, most seniors have begun their plans for their life after Petrides. There will be many posts within the Google classroom as well as on the schools website concerning the college application process. Please make sure to continuously check for new and important information. Please read it thoroughly before contacting me as it will answer most of your questions.   If you do not understand or have questions, please contact Mr. Olah at dolah@schools.nyc.gov  or see him in the College Office.  Thank you!
