Petrides Partners with UAU
Petrides is proud to partner with United Activities Unlimited with two special programs.
School Based Early Support Program and Learn & Earn for our 11th and 12th grade students
UAU School Based Early Support Prevention
The School Based Early Support Program (SBES) is one of the few prevention programs on Staten Island designed to service families not only in school, but also in their homes. The program’s main goal is to providing support to interested families. The SBES Team helps connect families with services in the Staten Island community, including school advocacy, mental health treatment, counseling, job exploration, housing, drug and alcohol treatment, day care, after school programs, tutoring, parenting skills class, shelter services, domestic violence aid, EBT, emergency items, food insecurities, immigration support and/or any other community resources the family needs assistance applying for. Interested families can reach out to their students’ guidance counselor or assistant principal for support. UAU SBES will be located in room B107, Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
UAU Learn and Earn
UAU’s Learn & Earn Program provides year-round work readiness, college readiness, leadership development, basic life skills, and employment opportunities for high school juniors and seniors. Through interactive workshops, program activities, guest speakers, professional panels, and an additional year of wraparound services, the participants are equipped with the skills necessary to navigate the path to graduation and build a foundation for a successful transition into post-secondary education and adulthood. Through after school programming focused on financial literacy, academic counseling, career exploration, and college application assistance, participants will the necessary tools to begin their career as young professionals. In addition, the participants have the opportunity to receive a sixteen week winter internship and a six-week paid internship during the summer in a field that will help them strengthen their ability to become self-sufficient, teach them hands on job skills training that will benefit them in various life settings, as well as allowing them to see themselves as respected and successful members of the community with strong goals for their future. UAU Learn & Earn will be in our 11th & 12th grade high school hub.

Petrides Basketball vs. Lilydale High School
The Petrides Basketball team will be hosting an international game against Lilydale High School from Australia. The teams are scheduled to play on Tuesday, December 3rd with JV tipping off at 4:30 pm and Varsity at 6:00 pm. Come out and support our Panthers.
