Return to in-person Learning for Grades Pre-K to 5 (January 4, 2021)

January 3, 2021
Dear Petrides Families,

Happy New Year!

We will reopen for in-person learning for students in grades PreK through 5 tomorrow, Monday, January 4th.

As a reminder – our “Cohort” days were established in September to allow families to plan for the school year.  This week, students in COHORT A will report to school on Monday and Tuesday, COHORT B students will be in attendance for in-person learning on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

To ensure the safety of staff and students, please remember the following:

Parents are required to complete health screening, including temperature check for each child attending school, every day.  The health screening includes answering the four survey questions daily – and conducing a temperature check at home.

  • Have you experienced symptoms of COVID-19, including a fever of 100.0 degrees F or greater, a new cough, new loss of taste or smell or shortness of breath within the past 10 days?
  • In the past 10 days, have you gotten a positive result from a COVID-19 test that tested saliva or used a nose or throat swab (not a blood test) that was your first positive result OR was AFTER 90 days from your previous positive result?
  • To the best of your knowledge, in the past 14 days, have you been in close contact (within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes) with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 for their first time or who has been told they have symptoms of COVID-19?
  • Have you traveled to a state other than New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Vermont, OR internationally in the last 14 days?

We will continue to conduct random temperature checks of students during morning arrival at Circular Drive.  Just a reminder that we have moved the temperature checks to inside the building to ensure accurate reading during the colder weather.

It’s important to remember to keep your child(ren) home if they are not feeling well or if they have been in close contact with someone who tested positive or is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

WEEKLY Random Covid-19 Testing

Regular random Covid-19 testing will resume for in-person staff and students later this week.  All students attending in-person learning MUST have a completed Covid-19 testing consent form on file.
