The Week of November 13, 2023 

 

Dear Petrides Parents

 

It’s Parent Teacher Conference Week! Parent Teacher Conferences will be conducted (virtually) throughout the week.  If you haven’t yet heard from your child’s teacher and need help scheduling an appointment, contact assistant principals for help: 

Elementary School (grades PreK-4) – Jennifer Ponzi-Caputo, jcaputo9@schools.nyc.gov 

Middle School (grades 5-8) – BettyAnn Souffrin, bsouffrin@schools.nyc.gov  

High School (grades 9-12) – Sheren Attal, sattal@schools.nyc.gov

 

 

Here’s what’s happening this week . . .    

 

MONDAY 11/13  

 

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY for students in grades 5 through 11 

  

TUESDAY 11/14  

WEDNESDAY 11/15   

 

7:00 pm In-person PTA General Membership Meeting, including Meet and Greet with Anthony Tabbitas, Interim Acting Principal 

SPECIAL ELECTIONS conducted for positions: Early Childhood VP, Elementary School VP, Corresponding Secretary 

 

THURSDAY 11/16 

 

Council for Unity hosts: Thanksgiving Food Drive (Day 1) – Unity students our drop off containers will be available during morning arrival at Circular Drive and in the Quad during pick up. We appreciate donations of non-perishable food and non-perishable items.

 

FRIDAY 11/17 

 

HALF DAY OF SCHOOL for all students, 11:30 am dismissal

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

 

November 28th through 30th will be our Scholastic Book Fair in the school library!  We welcome families to join us for this special event.  Your child's teacher will let you know when their class is scheduled to attend.  We look forward to seeing you at school!

 

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for parent volunteer to assist with the Book Fair.  Please complete the Google form (link below) or the QR code if you are interested and available to help.  We will select volunteers as needed from this list.  Please wait to hear from us as we may not need everyone.  We certainly plan on having more events where we will need additional support.
