I welcome both you and your child to another wonderful year in Middle School! This school year, in the 8th grade, is bound to be one of great change for not only your child but for all of us involved. I am excited and eager to be an integral part of your child’s academic development. This year will be my 9th year teaching in Public School. My first two years teaching were in I.S. 72 teaching English and Spanish. After I left I.S. 72, I came to Petrides to teach 5th grade for 3 years. I enjoyed every aspect of my career up until this point, but I also enjoy having a change in my life so I became the Literacy Coach at Petrides for 3 years. This was a great opportunity for me to help the other teachers in K-8 with their Literacy curriculum, as well as assisting the administration of the school. I learned a lot through this experience, but once again, it was time to move on and I became the 8th grade ELA teacher last school year.On a personal note, I have been married for 7 1/2 years and I have a toddler age child at home who I love teaching and playing with every moment I can. My favorite hobbies include baking, especially cookie and cake decorating, painting, drawing, and playing the piano.
Contact Information: If you have any questions at any time throughout the year, please feel free to call me at school or to email me. I will return your call or email as soon as possible. Communication between the students, teachers, & parents is vital in ensuring that the student can & will achieve while working to their fullest potential. As this is the student’s last year in Middle School, your student should already be familiar with the use of the monthly calendar, and Pupil Path to help them stay organized. I can be reached by email at any time at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask that you provide your email below for easy communication.
